So if you didn't catch my very subtle announcement at the end of this post we are expecting!! And we couldn't be happier. The baby is due Oct. 4th and...
And we couldn't be more thrilled! The boys and I are over the moon to welcome a new little lady into our home.
And although I'll be sure to keep up with the "boy" aesthetic and gender neutral crafts that you've all grown to love from Mer Mag, I can't deny that I might throw in a bit more femininity here and there. I think it will only broaden the range of fun stuff we can do, right!?We're having fun thinking of names, nesting, rearranging things, trying to figure out how she will fit in our little home while already making a place for her to fit into our hearts. A swears he will "change her diapers" (we'll see how that one will go, I'm happy if he ends up being willing to throw them out for me). Little O is so excited and talks about how cute she will be. He's quick to point out every little baby he sees. Once he squealed when he saw a little baby girl and loudly proclaimed "Mom! Look they have a baby girl and she already came out!". And I dare say, I think Jon just might be the most excited of us all. He's sworn she'll never touch her crib (he'll be holding her so much) and he's even started a pin board for little girl clothing which just blows me away. It's pretty adorable to see really. And me, well I'm just looking forward to meeting her, learning about her personality and trying really hard not to impose all my girly dreams on her :). So yeah, I have a plethora of pin board ideas as well and I'm pumped to start sewing, sewing, sewing!!!
So any advice from transitioning from two to three kids? I'm a little nervous, I have to admit. And what about having a girl? This is all new territory for me! I'd love to hear your thoughts and stories!
Congratulations!! How exciting, and what a lucky little lady!
ReplyDeleteCONGRATULATIONS!!!!
ReplyDeletebig big congrats! looking forward to a restrained smattering of pink and sparkles amongst the diy's!
ReplyDeletecongratulations! for me going from one to two kids was a lot harder than two to three, but little babies are hard no matter how many more you have! Everything is bound to be crazy and stressful for a while and then eventually life finds it's rhythm again.
ReplyDeleteYay!!! Congratulations! Looks like we are in the same boat. :)
ReplyDeleteso exciting!!! Congrats. You look amazing!
ReplyDeleteso excited for you! can't wait to see/meet her!!!
ReplyDeleteYea!!!! Girls are so much fun and for the record, I always felt having only one child was the hardest. The jump from two to three kids is just excepting the facts that you are now outnumbered and some things (tantrums, ect.) are just going to have to fall to the wayside. ;) But all in all, girls are so much fun. I am so excited for you, Merr. Let me know if you are having any kind of a baby shower, since it's a girl, and I will be there! Love you, Steph
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!!! My hardest transition was from 1 to 2. You should be fine going from 2 to 3, and after 3, there's no difference. The more the merrier.
ReplyDeleteI have a saying. Girls are easier to parent the first 10 years and boys are easier the next ten years. Regardless it's going to be a blast.
Congrats!! I have 2 little girls and so we love girls around our house. so many cute clothes and lots of imagination - playing fairies, princesses, etc along with all the other gender neutral fun that comes with any child. I'm sure you will love adding a little girl to the family!
ReplyDeleteIm new to your blog but I just had to give you a congratulations!!!!
ReplyDeleteI have one LIttle (boy) who's bordering on 2 now, so babies are sssoooo exciting for me!! (darn baby fever) :) But I can't wait to see what you'll have for little girls, I will stay tuned!
CONGRATS! that's so exciting and a little girl :) can't wait to see your belly and your family grow!

felicitaciones por la bebé!!!! i like your blog very much and i have to say that your boys are so cute, i am sure the baby girl is going to be such beauty, a princess. i have a baby boy of ten months and i am so in love with him, however i still don´t see me with another baby! congrats
ReplyDeleteGirls are awesome! :) Each kid has their own opinion of what they like to wear, but our girl refused to wear pants from age two to four and a half. We tried the; "princess Jasmine wears pants" tactic but to no avail. It was her love for all things Harry Potter that finally changed her opinion on what should be in her wardrobe. Don't get me wrong, I Love a good tutu but I wasn't prepared for the intensity of it plus I had just bought a bunch of pairs of pants and shirts at the time. A girl who has big brothers might have a different view though. But look at cousin Abby, she is all girl so who knows. ok I'm rambling. Love ya! :):)
ReplyDeletecongrats Merrilee! that is so exciting that you are having #3. and that it's a girl. double the excitement! transitioning to #3 was the easiest for me. i hope it is for you too! best wishes!
ReplyDeleteHow EXCITING! Going from 2-3, I promise you won't miss a beat. 1-2 had to be the toughest. But isn't it so much fun planning for a girl? And you guys have a pretty good gene pool there, so she's going to be gorgeous just like her big brothers. Congrats again!!! xo
ReplyDeletewe are so excited. I love the dynamic of your little family and was secretly hoping to have the same thing going on. So I am SO happy it happened and to have a little girl after two boys as well!
DeleteThis post just makes me happy. I love you, Mer and Jon. I am thrilled for you.
ReplyDeleteI am excited you are having a girl to play with my little E!
ReplyDeleteO my goodness girl you are lookin' GOOD! Rock Star gorgeous!
How exciting for you all! Congratulations. Baby girls are so sweet and it's fun to see brothers coddle them.
ReplyDeleteMy advice - lower your standards and expectations for a little while. Not in a bad way, just don't worry if everyone spends the day, or three, in jammies. Run errands while the big kids are in school, and create a nice family bed time routine so you don't feel like you are being pulled in too many places.
congrats! what exciting news! as a mom, it is always fun to have your own little girl!!
ReplyDeleteHOORAY!! So excited for you! Going from 2 to 3 isn't bad. However, I had about a 4 year gap between my last two and that was a little tough. I had forgotten how much work a tiny baby is. So just get in that baby mindset and you'll do great. I agree with Nikki McBride lower your standards a bit till you find your groove. LOVE YOU!!
ReplyDeleteI know, I have that 4 year gap too. I totally think it's a good idea to get back into baby mode because just thinking about it feels so foreign. LOVE YOU Annie Carie!
DeleteI think your whole family has the pregnancy glow goin on. Very cute! What exciting news!
ReplyDeleteOOOOOOOh! I can't wait!!! Such a sweet post! Love your boys and how excited they are! You are opening a very, very fun adventure with girls:) can't wait to see what you come up with!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sarah! We are so excited!
DeleteYAYYYYY! I've always thought Merrilee needs a girl. Can't wait to meet her!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I'm due with my third on 2 September - a boy after 2 girls!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!!!
ReplyDeleteMy first baby is due July 9th and it's a boy! :)
Your blog is so inspiring to me!
Congrats!!!!! That is so very exciting.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!!!
ReplyDeleteHey, congratulations! Another blessing :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats!!
ReplyDeleteFor me, the transition from 0 to 1 was the hardest. Going from 2 to 3 was a little overwhelming for the first few weeks, but bit by bit you work out a new groove.
Incidentally, on Sunday Suzette commented that it wasn't until she had her third child that she learned to truly cherish their baby phase. I've found the same to be true for me, perhaps because I know from experience how fast my kids grow up.
hooray, mer, we are so ecstatic for you and your growing family!!! the more the merrier!!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!
ReplyDeleteWow! Congratulations! I am really excited for you.
