Is it bad that I want my children to attend Montessori schools just because their equipment is so darn cool!? No, but seriously, I'm really getting into the philosophy behind Montessori schooling (why must it cost so much?...sigh). It's just a nice perk that the activities are so aesthetically pleasing. I might be playing with them more than the littles...

Montesorri schools are amazing! I went to one when I was younger and I loved it. So, no it's not wrong! :D
ReplyDeletei love the thought of my children growing in their amazing creations, however, my other half just doesn't get it. i'm defintiely diggin' the supplies.
ReplyDeleteas for the cost, uhhh. i'm feelin' ya. thank goodness your boys have an amazing mom that already makes things magical.
costs so much indeed! my friend's dd attends one in NJ that is $24,000 a year. she's 18 months old! great schools though.
ReplyDeleteI don't know much about Montessori schools, but I do know that those pretty pencils all in a row are quite stunning! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's totally ok to want that. Who wouldn't want their tots surrounded by gorgeous design? ME!

Montessori stuff is just fabulous- I use it constantly in my kindergarten classroom. It's so friggin expensive though! And of course, I have to buy it myself. It;s totally worth it, but has to be dolled out carefully. -e
ReplyDeleteI'm sure it's so much more expensive now but my brothers and I went to Montessori school. And it definitely stuck with me. I remember lots of little details from the snacks to the astronomy class and remember totally loving it. Those schools are so unique in how they bring out kids' natural curious nature.
ReplyDeleteIt is not bad at all!! My motivation for having children---other than the whole unconditional love thing--is the shopping and decor possibilities they open up. Having a whole other person to shop for? Yes please!
ReplyDeleteAnne, your comment makes me laugh!
ReplyDeleteI would love for my kids to experience Montessori.
All three of my kids went and are going to Montessori school. I cannot tell you how much it has effected them! The philosophy of Maria Montessori just makes so much sense! Learning "life skills" is a big thing that seems like a given, but most schools don't teach it. All of my kids are so loving and respectful and confident. My 3-year old daughter just finished learning all of the continents of the world. Amazing! Expensive, yes, but well worth it. We made the decision to sacrafice family vacations so we could afford to send them to this school. That small window of opportunity to mold their brains closes fast! Take advantage of it while you can. My 16-year old also went to Montessori and she is amazing. None of the usual "teen" drama going on. She works part-time, goes to school full-time, and volunteers at church and an animal rescue on the weekends. She even says that Montessori is one thing that gave her the foundation in which she lives.
ReplyDeleteI highly recommend Montessori!!!
