It's now up for pre-order, due out on shelves Oct. 14, 2008. It was a especially fun to work on a story that is based here in East Tennessee and the Smoky Mountains (it is set in the past). It's a fun spit-fire Southern story that I recommend to all. A big thanks to LJ for the type inspiration and for local talent Amber Wilson who so wonderfully portrays Autumn Winfred. However, after seeing this beautiful Francine bag, I might have to change my tune. Of course at $798 I'm sure I'll still just linger outside the shop windows. I would love to make these someday. I came across these files I created for Atticus' mural. As you can see I went with the tree one and simplified it quite a bit. I still really like the hexagon idea however and now want to see where else I could use this. Ahh...my little boy is growing up too fast. He will be 2 on the 20th of this month. It's a good thing there is a new little baby on the way...oh, did I just let that slip out? I'm very much enjoying the little thing. Posted by mer at 7:41 PM 2 comments Labels: craft 3.03.2008color love: beachy blues with orangeOK, so I had to present 2 color loves today. I'm so impressed with this color inspiration board that I found on Brooklyn Bride. I'd frame this it's so lovely. I've become so obsessed with these colors I've devoted Atticus' entire childhood to them. You'd think I'd tire of them...but alas...I do not. Would a live tree die if I did this? Would I go down in history as a tree killer? Posted by mer at 10:23 PM 2 comments color love: soft blue greys with pops of yellowpic via creature comforts
